Durban Port Festival Coming Up
The annual Durban Port Festival will take place on 29 and 30 September at the Durban Harbour Precinct. The festival will open at 11am on both days.
 
The Municipality in partnership with event host, Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), will be observing the theme ‘All Things Heritage’, at this year’s festival and embrace the diversity of Durban’s different cultures, traditions and heritage.
 
The two day event includes a career and business expo and a tour of the SA Navy ships stationed at the N Shed passenger terminal. N Shed will also showcase an exhibition of maritime careers and opportunities for small and medium businesses, while TNPA will have tugboats and other marine craft open for tours throughout the weekend.
 
Waterside activities will include a sail-past and regatta, sea rescue displays, jet-ski demonstrations and a tugboat ‘dance’.

The main festival area opposite Royal Natal Yacht Club will feature a line-up of popular and emerging performing artists including Holly Rey, Junior De Rocka, DJ Tira, Clermont Choir, Qadasi and Maqhinga, Ringo Madlingozi, Lady Zamar, Eric Canham, Simthandile Mtolo and jazz band, Too Close.

Get a complimentary shuttle or enter via the BAT Centre port entrance for access to the main festivities in the vicinity of Royal Natal Yacht Club.
Here you can enjoy guided tours at the Port Natal Maritime Museum, live entertainment on the main stage, a mini market and arts and crafts
stalls, plus Harley Davidsons, superbikes and supercars, jet ski viewing, rides and loads more.
 
Food and drinks will be available at the Lifestyle Village Festival entry per day is R30 for adults and R15 for children under the age of 13 and kids under 3years enter free.
 
Blankets, picnic mats and folding chairs are welcome however, gazebos and picnic umbrellas will not be permitted.
