Rural communities, women and and the youth are close to the heart of newly re-elected Councillor and Exco member Zandile Gumede.
“They need to reap the benefits that we provide. We need to educate them so that they can access these opportunities,” she said.
“Being elected for a second term means a lot to me. We must not look down on our communities we must support them and help them grow. Door to door visits must be done regularly. We commit to fight corruption and to be honest.”
“Service delivery is our priority. People need services out there. We must be honest and transparent about everything we do. The budget must be adequately allocated.” She encouraged citizens to speak out. “Don’t be scared. Speak to your community and council structures. Let us know what you need.”
